The iGEM Vehicle is AVL's new Automation System for Chassis Dyno Emission Test cells, based on the proven Automation Platform PUMA Open.

The iGEM Engine product line covers Engine Emission Research & Development and Certification testing for Heavy Duty On-Highway, all Off-Highway and certification-like the testing of Light Duty and passenger car engines on dynamic engine testbeds.

Frequent changes in the worldwide rulemaking of emission legislation increase the need to keep up to date with emission automation. New requirements like EPA 40 CFR Part 1065 and Off-Highway regulations as well as Euro 5/6 are a challenge to modern emission testing.

AVL iGEM Engine/ Vehicle guarantee a correct implementation of the latest legislative code:

• in the emission automation for engine test beds
• and the chassis dynamometer test for emissions.

The AVL SESAM i60 FT is the newest member of its iGeneration Emission Products family and a Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) multi-component system that measures numerous pre-calibrated gas components in a time-synchronous and dynamic manner. It creates an infrared broadband spectrum that can be used to detect all spectrum information of the exhaust gas sample at the same time. The absorption spectrum is calculated from the measured interferograms by means of the Fourier transformation. With specifically developed evaluation methods, this absorption spectrum is used to determine the results.

• User-selectable 1Hz and 5Hz scan rates
• Optimized 5Hz fast-response, low-flow sampling system
• User selectable flow configurations with fast system response time of ~350ms to < 1 sec while maintaining low extracted flow
