About the Project
Students and motorists alike in the county of Fairfax will be breathing a lot easier thanks to a recent grant from the EPA. Over the Course of 3 months 573 school buses were retrofitted with the AZ Purifier™ and the AZ Purimuffler™ in the Fairfax County Public School District in the state of Virginia. The installation was done in a time frame that suited the school district so that there was no interruption of school transportation services. This is another example of the clean air programs that Engine Control Systems is proud to be a part of.
About the Products
573 School buses were retrofit with ECS’s AZ Purifiers or AZ Purimufflers. The EPA verified line of AZ products are diesel oxidation catalysts which provide effective reductions of odor, carbon monoxide (CO) (40%), hydrocarbon (HC) (50%) and the soluble organic fraction (SOF) of diesel particulate matter (PM) (20-40+%). The AZ Purimufflers were a direct replacement for the original mufflers. The old muffler was removed and the AZ Purimuffler installed with new clamps provided by ECS at no additional charge, no new pipes to bend or tubing to cut.
