Fuel Additives?

I did a search here but found nothing.

I've been asked to invest in a company that makes (blends) sanke oil, err, I mean fuel additive that they claim can be proven mathematically to increase mileage and efficiency.

So, what's the consensus on additives?

Fuel additives serve a number of important functions, but their impact on mileage and emissions is usually rather limited, especially so in modern engines. This, however, depends on the type of additive. For instance, organometallic additives containing platinum may have some emission impact.

I have been using Acetone in the amounts of 3 oz per 10 gal.

I was able to get an additional 30-50 miles from a tank overall.

Acetone helps the fuel atomize.

It works in Gas and Diesel, any kind of car with 0 harm.
