I am going to select an engine for an mining equipment with constant speed of 2200rpm. POwer rating 102kW.

Which governor should i prefer. Mechanical or electronic?

What ll be the advantage of electronic, if i use it over mechanical?

An electronic governor depends and is controlled by an electronic module that senses engine speed by counting electrical pulses coming from the ignition system or magnetic pickup. These pulses varies depending on the engine speed which allows the module to give proportional voltage to the servo to regulate the engine speed. On the other hand, those mechanical governor senses rpm to adjust and to vary the torque load on the engine.
