New paper: Variable Valve Actuation (VVA)

A new paper on Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) has been added in the Technology Guide. This is an important step in our ongoing update of papers dealing with engine intake air management.

The new paper is a comprehensive overview of VVA technologies, including valve timing control (VTC), variable valve lift (VVL) and camless valve trains. Principles of operation of the various VVA concepts are explained and illustrated by examples of practical implementations (commercial and/or development). Design objectives and application aspects in both gasoline and diesel engines are also discussed.

The paper includes 38 pages when printed and 33 figures (30 new + 3 figures from the previous generation of intake air management papers).
