As a Caterpillar engineer, you’ll be developing and applying many types of innovative technologies and systems. These include electro-hydraulic, embedded software systems, robotics, engine and fuel systems, advanced measurement and data acquisition systems and many more.
Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Engine Performance Data Manager to join our team. This position, located in Lafayette, Indiana, will be responsible for the maintenance and development of computer programs and databases used to create and maintain engine performance data and display it for use by our sales force. In this position, the successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
- Working with internal customers to develop project requirements.
- Working with suppliers to define requirements for quote and execution.
- Develop and implement plans to execute and validate programs.
The qualified candidate must posses a bachelors degree in engineering or computer science. Demonstrated knowledge of database programming is necessary. A working knowledge of engines and engine performance would be helpful. Proven abilities in the area of planning, initiative and communication are important.
This position offers the opportunity to further develop an understanding of engine performance, use computer-programming skills and interface with Marketing.
