As a Caterpillar engineer, you’ll be developing and applying many types of innovative technologies and systems. These include electro-hydraulic, embedded software systems, robotics, engine and fuel systems, advanced measurement and data acquisition systems and many more.
Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Diesel Engine Performance Engineer to join our team. This position, located in Lafayette, Indiana, will be part of a team responsible for the performance development of the C175 and 3500 engine families. In this position, the successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
- Development and optimization of engine performance on new ratings.
- Support of performance related product issues.
- Support of performance related cost reduction work.
- Special Rating Request (SRR) analysis.
- Support of performance related Application and Customer Service inquiries.
- Engine simulation.
- Test plan development.
- Data analysis and engine map calibration.
- Creation of performance data for Marketing.
The qualified candidate must posses a Bachelors degree in engineering, and be able to demonstrate technical knowledge and analytical ability is necessary. A working knowledge of engines and engine performance would be helpful. Proven abilities in the area of planning, initiative and communication are highly desirable.
