Field Service Engineer

Sierra is a leading worldwide supplier of engine emissions testing products and services. We are a rapidly growing company and are in the process of expanding our team. Our particulate partial flow sampling systems (PPFSS) provide our customers with a complete engine particulate emissions sampling solution assuring the highest possible sample data quality, increased testing efficiency, drastically reduce costs, and improve test-cell safety.
Core Products and Services:
- Transient Partial Flow Sampling Systems (also steady-state): Model BG-3
- Emissions Sampling Tools & Accessories : Filters, Filter Holders, Automatic Filter Changers, Air Handling Packages, Heated Sample Lines, Filter Weighing Chambers
- Instrumentation & Measurement: Mass Flow Meters & Controllers, Combustion Analysis, Calibration Mapping, Fuel Weighers, Fuel Conditioning, Vehicle Simulation
- Test Cell Automation: Cell Environment, In-Cell Equipment, Dynamometers
- Test Cell Consulting Services
Position Purpose:
- Commission products in the field & train customers.
- Recertify and calibrate Sierra's emissions products at the customer location.
- Identify, solve, and inform Production and Engineering of technical problems with Sierra's emissions products.
- Maintain Service Department equipment.
- Solve and support BG-3 customer problems.

- Customer Service and support.
- Service personnel training and support
- Maintenance and calibration @ customer test site
- Assist Sierra manufacturing with production, repair & calibration issues
- Warranty repair evaluation and reporting
Problem Solving:
- Address customer problems (service/maintenance) and questions for the emissions product line.
- Troubleshoot & technical problems with warranty & non-warranty issues
- Customer application problems - due to lack of knowledge.
Position Qualifications:
- Engineering degree or Associates Degree Required or 5 years emissions related experience
- Customer skills.
- Experience in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 markets sector would be ideal
- Must be willing to travel 24 weeks per year.
- Requires customer and service orientation.
- Communication skills (to higher and lower technical level people).
- Ability to analyze problems & successfully communicate the required action.
- Train other technicians and customer.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Travel on Plane (max 5 hour flight)
