About Sensor-Nite
Sensor-Nite—formed in 1996 within the Heraeus Electro-Nite Group in Belgium—is a Tier 1 supplier of high temperature exhaust gas sensors for the automotive industry. Our sensors are used for exhaust gas temperature monitoring in exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems, diesel particulate filters (DPF), selective catalytic reduction (SCR), turbocharging systems (overheating detection/fuel economy), oxidation catalysts, NOx traps, and fuel reformers. Areas of application include cars, SUV’s, trucks, boats, heavy duty machines, snow-mobiles, jetskis, buses, and other.
Temperature Sensor TS200 EGTS
The electrical resistance of the sensing element (chip) changes as the temperature changes. This allows for easy measurement without the need for special wiring or electronics. The measured temperature can easily be calculated in the ECU. The success of the sensor concept can be traced back to its ease of use and wide range performance: -40°C to 950°C. In production for a few years now, the sensor proved itself to be accurate, quick measuring, resistant to high temperature and with a good thermal shock resistance. It also proved to be functional over its wide temperature range without compromising the performance over the lifetime (accuracy, step response, etc).
Mass Flow Sensor
The Mass Flow Sensor uses the same technology as the temperature sensor. In addition to a standard temperature sensor, the Mass Flow Sensor incorporates a heating element. The combined information from the temperature sensor and the energy feed to the heater allows the electronic component to calculate the mass flow.
The system is delivered with the electronics and the sensor preassembled in a tube. Main applications include EGR systems for truck engines.
Custom Made Products
- Insertion Depth—The accuracy of the measurement is related to the location of the sensitive element in the application. To position the sensitive element in the center of the exhaust gas stream, we provide the sensor with different insertion depths.
- Bended Sensors—The sensor also needs to fit in the engine or exhaust system layout. To accomodate this, we provide bended versions of the sensor.
- Sensor Cable And Connector—The sensor is produced with different lenghts of cable to fit the applications. We can also provide the sensor with any connector the customer has chosen for the application.
