CleanAIR Systems introduces new diesel catalyst

20 August 1998

CleanAIR Systems, Inc. recently developed a new generation catalyst for use on diesel-powered equipment in mining, tunneling, construction, material handling, power generation and over-the-road vehicles. Test results indicate the new catalyst achieves a lower light-off temperature than older generation catalysts with a 65 to 70% reduction in hydrocarbons at 235 degrees Celsius.

This catalyst, available in CleanDIESEL Converters and Mufflers, also reduces carbon monoxide levels by more than 90%. These systems become more efficient as the engine works harder and the exhaust temperature increases. CleanDIESEL Converters and Mufflers are used to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) air quality standards. These catalytic systems chemically convert carbon monoxide and unburned hydrocarbons into harmless carbon dioxide and water vapor. In addition, the converters provide the extra benefit of reducing visible smoke by up to 30%.

CleanAIR Systems manufactures converters or converter-muffler systems that fit equipment by all diesel equipment manufacturers. CleanDIESEL Converters are installed in the exhaust system between the engine and the muffler. CleanDIESEL Mufflers are direct replacements for standard mufflers, easily bolting in place and minimizing installation time.

In addition to diesel converter systems, CleanAIR Systems manufactures CleanPROPANE and CleanGASOLINE Mufflers for use on propane and gasoline engines used inside buildings, warehouses, and indoor maintenance applications.

CleanDIESEL, CleanGASOLINE, and CleanPROPANE are registered trademarks of CleanAIR Systems, Inc. Founded in 1993, CleanAIR Systems is a privately held manufacturing company based in Santa Fe, NM.
