Panel discussion of new EPA locomotive exhaust emission regulations planned for ASME ICE Division conference

A panel discussion of new EPA locomotive exhaust emission regulations is planned for the ASME Internal Combustion Engine Division conference to be held April 26-28 in Columbus, Indiana. The panel will be one of thirteen technical sessions planned, where 54 technical papers will be presented. The conference will open with a keynote address titled "The Future of the Internal Combustion Engine," by Professor John B. Heywood, Director of the Sloan Automotive Laboratory at MIT.
Another highlight of the conference, hosted by the Cummins Engine Company, will be tours of two (2) of Cummins Engine Company's finest manufacturing facilities. At Cummins Fuel System Plant, you will see a state-of-the art facility focused on the design, development, and manufacture of diesel engine fuel systems and turbochargers. At Cummins unique Mid-Range Engine Plant, you will see the popular B-Series engine that is featured in the Dodge Pick-Up Trucks.
The locomotive panel will explore the issues and challenges of the EPA locomotive exhaust emission regulations that go into effect on 1 January 2000.
