Suncor to supply biodiesel for Toronto Transit Commission

16 May 2006

Suncor Energy will be supplying biodiesel blend fuel for the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). The fuel will contain 5% biodiesel (B5) blended with Suncor petroleum diesel derived from oil sands. The biodiesel component will be supplied by a number of US manufacturers. The fuel will be blended by Suncor using its own blending process.

The sales agreement extends to December 2007. In total, Suncor will supply the TTC with over 120 million liters of the blended fuel.

It is the firs time that a major Canadian energy company supplies biodiesel fuel to its customers.

TTC operates a fleet of 1,491 buses.
