Emitec supplies metallic catalyst substrates to Cleaire

2 March 2010

Michigan-based Emitec Inc., a leading supplier of metallic substrates for controlling vehicle exhaust gas emissions, has signed an agreement with retrofit system manufacturer Cleaire to supply a new generation of diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) substrates. The agreement launched in January 2010 and catalysts are being supplied from Emitec’s manufacturing facility in South Carolina.

Emitec supplies Cleaire with diesel oxidation catalysts for their Allmetal™ particulate filter systems for off-road applications, which are smaller and need less precious metal than current conventional catalysts. Emitec’s LS Design® (longitudinal structure design) substrates use small shovels to break up and redistribute the exhaust gas flow inside the channels, increasing turbulency and leading to a higher overall catalyst efficiency.

Emitec Inc. is a subsidiary of Emitec GmbH. Since its foundation in 1986, Emitec has sold more than 100 million metallic substrates worldwide.
